The Accommodation and Food:

Camping on the ocean! Space is a premium on a sailboat. Each passenger will have their own berth and all of the dry items you have with you will be stored in your berth with you. Each berth has a curtain and the sleeping areas below deck are heavily air conditioned to keep the humidity down. Closing your curtain tightly will warm your berth up quickly, but overall there is limited privacy outside of your berth or in the bathrooms / shower. You will share cabin space with 3 to 5 other passengers in close quarters depending on which section of the vessel you are housed in. None of this really matters! We are there to dive and have a great time, so you will find you spend very little time in your berth outside of sleeping (and diving is tiring so most passengers fall asleep quickly) so don't be too concerned.

There are bathrooms in each section of the vessel and the crew works very hard to keep everything clean for your enjoyment. There is one shower, located mid-ship in the galley section. Passengers have unlimited showering time using the saltwater taps and then a maximum of 30 seconds rinse with fresh water.

Meals are served at breakfast, lunch and dinner with snacks in between each meal (following each dive). The food really very good and you will be impressed at the meals the cook can churn out each day from such a tiny galley area. Dietary restrictions and special requests can be made prior to the the departure and will be accommodated happily.

There is always leftovers, bagels, toast, cereal and a variety of snacks available 24/7 for anyone needing a midnight snack or something extra mid-day if you are feeling peckish before meal time.

The Diving:

The diving in the Bahamas is world class. The reefs have been protected for a long time so there are healthy populations of sharks, turtles and so much more. If you are a photographer, there are lots of oppourtunities to capture something interesting whether you are into pelagics or macro photograpy. There is something for everyone.

The diving is suitable for ALL skill levels. If you are an Open Water Diver, it is also a great oppourtunity to complete your Advanced Open Water Diver certification while there. We always have instructors on board to facilitate most courses and specialty courses you may be interested in. There are speacial deals on training during the trip, so please ask if there is something you are interested in. Popular training courses include:

  • Advanced Open Water Diver
  • Night Diver Specialty
  • Deep Diver Specialty
  • Search and Recovery Specialty
  • Fish Identification Specialty
  • Aware Shark Conservation Specialty
  • Peak Performance Buoyancy Specialty

Late March to early April is a great time to visit the Bahamas because it is getting warm and sunny there, and if you are lucky ... when you return to Canada, spring has sprung and our nice weather begins.
