The PADI Underwater Navigation Course with AQUASUB SCUBA DIVING CENTRE

The PADI Underwater Navigator course is designed to provide divers with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively navigate underwater using both natural and compass navigation techniques. The course covers topics such as the different types of compasses and navigation patterns, as well as how to use natural navigation techniques such as depth, time, and landmarks.

During the course, you will learn how to use a compass to navigate underwater, as well as how to apply natural navigation techniques to determine your position and direction. You will also learn how to use different types of underwater maps and dive site sketches, as well as how to plan and execute navigation dives safely and effectively.

To enroll in the PADI Underwater Navigator course, you must have a minimum of the PADI Open Water Diver certification or equivalent, and be at least 10 years old. The course typically includes both classroom and practical sessions, and culminates in several open water dives where you will apply the knowledge and skills you have learned.

The PADI Underwater Navigator course is an important training program for divers of all levels, as it helps to improve diving safety and enjoyment by enabling divers to navigate underwater environments effectively and confidently. Proper navigation skills are essential to preventing accidents and getting the most out of your diving experiences.

If you're a PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver who is at least 10 years old, you can enroll in the PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty course.

What You Will Learn

You'll learn to use natural clues to navigate and also practice:

  • Methods to estimate distance underwater.
  • Compass navigation while making multiple turns
  • Marking or relocating a submerged object or position from the surface.
  • Underwater map making.

Prerequisites & Requirements

  • Be at least 10 years old
  • Certified Junior Open Water Diver or above

  • Standard Scuba Equipment
  • Compass
  • Spool or Reel
  • Slate

Paperwork:

  1. Student Enrollment Form - All students must complete the intake form
  2. Liability and Risk Acknowledgement Forms - All students must complete, print and sign the questionaire and liability releases.
  3. Medical Questionaire - If Form 2 has ANY questions you have answered YES to, you must complete form 3 and have it signed by your personal physician
